Food Safety

Safe food is everyone's concern and here at Long Wind Farm we take food safety very seriously.  While we have always taken great care to ensure that our tomatoes are handled in a safe manner and our organic practices lend themselves to an overall safer product, more and more supermarkets and grocery stores are requiring documentation of such policies.

Currently distributors, stores and grocery chains are asking that farms undergo voluntary auditing to certify that they comply with the USDA Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) & Good Handling Practices (GHP).  This will soon become a requirement and rightly so.

Long Wind Farm has adopted a comprehensive food safety program and we get audited to certify that we are meeting the USDA's GAP & GHP requirements. Click here to view our USDA Food Safety certificate

It is very important to all of us at Long Wind Farm that our customers not only enjoy the flavor of our delicious organic tomatoes, but that they can eat them knowing that we have gone to great lengths to assure that they are handled with food safety in mind.
