There has been a great deal of consumer concern about the FDA advisory that has been issued regarding tomatoes tainted with Salmonella serotype Stpaul that has been the source of illness in many people. Our hearts go out to those who have been affected by this outbreak.
UPDATE 6/12/08: The state of Vermont has been added to the list of tomato growing regions that have been cleared as safe by the FDA.
Long Wind Farm takes food safety very seriously and the health of our customers is a driving force behind all that we do. Vermont-grown Long Wind Farm organic tomatoes are safe to eat, but like all produce should be washed, stored, and handled properly before consumption.
